For the third straight year, the Pantry Bowl was an amazing success — thanks to you.

Congratulations to Feed the Pack, which received the most gifts, and thank you to everyone who participated. Whether you spread the word, learned more about food insecurity or made a gift to strengthen food pantry resources at NC State and Carolina, you made a difference for our communities. We really do all win when we work together to address a cause as important as food insecurity. 

We’re excited to share that NC State exceeded last year’s total number of monetary gifts (1,128), so Feed the Pack will receive an additional $15,000 from alumni TJ and Erin Trantham!
We hope you’ll continue to support Feed the Pack and Carolina Cupboard year-round, and share this work with your fellow alumni and friends.

New Feed the Pack Location Serves Students, Builds Community

Now in its 11th year, Feed the Pack serves the Wolfpack community with dignity and respect. The pantry recently moved to a spacious new home in North Hall that includes large refrigerators stocked with produce, dairy products and even desserts. Feed the Pack’s move is part of the new Pack Essentials Hub, opened in September 2023, which helps students meet multiple needs simultaneously, making it a site for both convenience and connection.

Tackling NC State on the Field and Hunger off the Field

It takes a community to fight hunger, and the Carolina community is fortunate to have the generosity of its volunteers, donors and so many partners who work and give to the Carolina Cupboard. Last year, Carolina received more than 1,100 gifts during Pantry Bowl for the on-campus food pantry that provides students with food and supplies at no cost, with no barriers. This year, Carolina aims to top that, ensuring no Tar Heel is hungry.

The Pantry Bowl is an annual fundraising initiative that unites two passionate fan bases — the Wolfpack and the Tar Heels — to bring awareness to the issue of food insecurity, which affects as many as 1 in 5 people on college campuses. Gifts will support each university’s food pantry, Feed the Pack and Carolina Cupboard. Last year’s Pantry Bowl raised $148,099.93 from 2,235 gifts – nearly $60,000 and 1,000 gifts more than the competition’s first year!
